Why you should avoid the Nokia Lumia 800

the lumia 800

Nokia recently launched the Nokia Lumia 800 in the Indian markets, a highly awaited phone and a very neat attempt by Nokia to tackle other smartphone manufacturers which have stormed into the market (thanks to android) such as Samsung, htc,LG. We recently got a hands on with the device and were mighty impressed with it, the 3.7 inch clear black AMOLED display is a plus point of the device, the colour reproduction is pretty nice and comes close to the Samsung Galaxy S II's Super AMOLED plus display. The Nokia Lumia 800 has an 8 MP camera and we must say that the camera is better than the 8MP camera on the Samsung Galaxy S II. There are no lags in the UI even when we had opened applications simultaneously such as the internet explorer, angry birds and asphalt. Windows Phone 7.5 is clearly more smoother than Android and is comparable to iOS. Note that the Lumia 800 runs on a 1.4 Ghz single core processor while the Samsung Galaxy S II runs on a 1.2 Ghz dual core processor. On the design front the Nokia Lumia 800 is arguably the best designed phone taking inspiration from its long gone brother the Nokia N9,  But there are some negative aspects of the device , we list them below

Nokia Lumia 800 Hands on!

Nokia Lumia is the latest phone on roll. Mobileradar team went to get some snaps of the phone and review videos as well. The phone's touch is extremely smooth with a floating screen. It is capacitive. The body is made of a single piece without any nuts and bolts driven into them. Very much portable, the size and dimensions of the phone are also very appropriate. It has an 8 MP back camera. It has got very interesting orientation with a fluidic display. The phone is the best card played by Nokia till date. Nokia seems to be hoping to hold on to its competitors with this phone. Here we have some snaps of the phone that were taken by our team.

Samsung Omnia W preorder begins to be available by the end of december

Omnia W or the Lumia 710 ?

The Samsung Omnia W, first WP7 handset from Samsung for Indian customers will finally be available in the India markets by the end of December but you can  preorder it now online at flipkart.com for a price of 20,999 Rs.

Quick Specifications:

•  Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) OS
•  5 MP Primary Camera
•  0.3 MP Secondary Camera
•  3.7-inch Super AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen
•  1.4 GHz Scorpion Processor

•  Social Networking Enabled

The Omnia W will definitely give the Nokia's Lumia 710 a tough competition, actually we will prefer this handset over the 710 as it is a little cheaper than 710 (710 will be about 22,000 Rs.) and it also has a front facing camera which the 710 lacks.Other features such as processor, GPU are all similar.

The person was himself a little confused at first he said 20,000 then 21,000, we assume that the actual pricing will be 20,999 Rs. (or some thing like that).

The Nokia Lumia 800 will be priced at 29,999 Rs. But when we inquired about Nokia only apps, the representative said that "Apps can be downloaded from the market place".
