After many thoughts and analysis our choice boiled down to three phones namely:

1) Samsung galaxy Y
2) Micromax a70
3) Motorola fire
Go for the Samsung Galaxy Y if you want good features with Samsung's trust and best in class capacitive touchscreen coupled with the latest android 2.3, this phone will definitely not disappoint you!
Go for the micromax a70 if you want a front facing camera along with a better camera but then you will have to be satisfied with android 2.2 and we don't know if any update is coming or not.
Go for the motorola fire if you are a qwerty lover or are not comfortable with typing on touchscreens! but can compromise on the screen size! + it has android 2.3
we are not recommending the motorola charm because of its rather old android 2.1 operating system and the LG optimus pro because of its price
