According to the reports in the Times of India, Airtel may have to cough up a huge sum of 50 crore if it is found guilty of concealing the
'CLI' or the calling-line mechanism. It is alleged that airtel made promotional calls to non-airtel customers. Deceiving the calling-line mechanism is a breach of the conditions.
Airtel has already denied any warning by DoT regarding this issue and hence did not comment upon this topic, but surprisingly in the report airtel has said that it was an error by its technical staff! hmmm... something fishy?
